As with any disputed territory, its exact borders are difficult to map, but for my part I can offer a sketch of the truth that interests me. A History of Errors
Nobody’s perfect, everybody can agree on that. Others are sometimes labelled saintly, and the Pope is famously infallible, but I do not know of a living person who would claim never to have made a mistake. To err is apparently human, to which we should add that to be human is to err. A reader may nod and cringe and recall an embarrassing moment, but error goes broader and deeper in every sense. Being a pretentious sort of person, I had originally intended to produce a work of mind-altering genius that would change forever the course of human thought. However, self-awareness eventually crept in, so I decided to lower my ambitions a little. And there is no lower ambition than to write a blog.
